Parents obeying God’s word!

In this study, my dad and I will be looking into some of the things that God wants us all to know concerning those parents who obey God’s word. Let’s study!

Deut. 4:9Only take heed to thyself, and keep thy soul diligently, lest thou forget the things which thine eyes have seen, and lest they depart from thy heart all the days of thy life: but teach them thy sons, and thy son’s sons;” This Bible section is speaking to adults about teaching kids. I can see here that God’s word says that those who refuse to teach their kids and grand kids about God will even forget the things that they may have learned about the word of God themselves. Therefore it is very important for parents to teach us about God so that even the parent will be able to remember the word of God.

Psalm 78:4We will not hide them from their children. Showing the generation to come the praises of the Lord, and his strength, and his wonderful works that he had done”. I learned from my dad that in this verse the words “their kids” teaches adults that they should also be teaching other people's kids about God. This verse also shows me that kids are to learn about the “wonderful works” of God. This means that God has done something wonderful and wants kids to learn about it from adults. In many homes today kids hear much talk about the bad things that someone has done, just by listening to a typical mom and dad conversation. However kids need to be hearing about the wonderful things that God has done. In this study I am learning to tune my ears out when adults talk about the bad things of other people and to let my ear drums be open and pay close attention when I hear adults talk about God!

God is pleased when parents obey!

Proverbs 3:6, "In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths". Proverbs teaches people how to live on earth and be right with God so that we can make it to heaven. This verse above shows us that the one way that we can be sure that God is leading us, is to think about God in all that we do. I feel that this should be so in schools also, kids should be taught how much it means for us to let God direct our path.

I have learned that if I am not able to put God first in anything that I am involved in, then I am not involved in the right things or the people in charge are not allowing God to be acknowledged because they really do not believe in God. If the teachers that teach us in school are not allowed to acknowledge God, does this mean that they are not teaching us as God would have us to learn as kids? Maybe this is why so many kids end up in jail, and dropping out of school, because God is not being acknowledged in our schools. I am so glad that my dad talks to me about God, because other grown ups in my life seem to be afraid to even acknowledge God for themselves, especially in our schools in America. Even though teachers are forbidden to teach me about God, I know that my grades are good because of the fact that I have learned to pray about every test and to ask God to help me to understand as a kid! I love my teachers but I love God more because without God, I would not have people to teach me anything at all, this is why I think about God first in every thing, because without God I would not even be here.

Psalm 24: 1, "The earth is the Lords and the fullness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein". This verse teaches me that even those people who make laws which may keep kids from learning about God in schools, belong to God also. This is why I love them because I know that God will have the final say so in my life and even in their life. Therefore the word here is that;

John 1: 1, "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God".

This scripture teaches us kids just how important the words that we say are. God is in our words and now that I understand that God is in my words, I really do not want to say any words that will hurt any ones feelings, because God does not want me to use his words to do anything that is not good. God wants my words to be good to other people.

This is very important for kids to understand because people will respect us by the words that we speak. If we use bad words that hurts other peoples feelings, then people will see us as being a bad kid. If we speak good words to people, then people will see us as being a good kid. I really do not want people to say that I am a bad kid, so I try my best to speak good words to others. I will be studying more on the word with my Dad and will write more to you about what I learn. See you next time, and remember to speak good words, because God is in your word!

James 3: 8 "But the tongue can no man tame; it is and unruly evil, full of deadly poison" Here I learned that the tongue is a part of our flesh and that if I do not allow God to control my words, then I will not be able to speak good words to other people. I also learned that I can tell if other kids around me are allowing God to control their words, because if their words are not good, that I hear them say, then it's not God that they are obeying. My words are not able to be controlled by any man but God can make sure that I speak Good words! I am really enjoying what I am learning about the words that I speak and I can not wait to study more on the Word!

Genesis 1: 1-4, "In the beginning God created the heaven and earth. And the earth was without form and void; and the darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness." These are the words of the Bible in the beginning and here I learned how the word was in the beginning. At first there was only darkness that even God desired light.

I also learned that God first said the words of "let there be light" before light was seen by God. This proves that the word was in the beginning, and now I know that unless I speak good words then I cannot see good things in life. The word is so powerful that it will direct my life towards light if I speak good words, but if I speak bad words then there will only be darkness and bad things to happen in life. For all kids that desire to have good things to happen in life, I want you to know that all we have to do is speak good words even when we are in darkness, which is when someone tries to upset us or make us mad, and even when we cannot do the things that we want to do because our parents will not allow us to.

We must still speak good words!
